Last night, Radek gave a short presentation at Pint of Science introducing the project to a room full of enthusiasts at the Eagle and Child pub in York. The reactions were great and we were able to gain some valuable feedback on our work so far, as well as some great ideas for where things could be taken in the future.
The Sonicules game engine is now at the exciting stage where we can start to experiment with some example drugs and hear spatial audio displays of the collisions. Excited to share our progress, we’ve put together a short demo video for you. As you watch it, pop on some headphones and try and listen out for the following features:
- As we move the drug-molecule towards the cancer cell, the spatial audio creates a sense of envelopment.
- As we try and rotate it into the correct position, we hear Radek’s sound world moving around us.
- As the molecules collide, we hear collision sounds in space.
